Welcome

"Rootstech" is the name of a national Family History Conference of which I recently attended in February 2011.  This conference was held at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. It was the first of a kind. Genealogy users (Roots) and the techie folks (tech) came together under one roof to determine what some of the future needs would be for technology as it related to Family History. Thus, the name "Rootstech."

The main "take away" for me from this meeting was that I am not using the social media aspects of technology to get my family names, photos, and documents out there for others to discover. Thus, sharing what knowledge and information I have and gleaning knowledge from others.

My first attempt to get this information out there will be this blog. I have done a small amount of blogging on my living family, but nothing on the ancestors. I feel that I have much to share to anyone that is interested. My hope is that I will find some interested people and that I will be able to share with you my experiences, learning, photos, and documents.

Welcome to my Family History Blog
